ABOUT
Nicolas Makelberge is a Swedish artist renowned for his large-scale evocative artworks, reminiscent to the forces at play in the sky and the sea - his constant sources of inspiration.
The trajectory of Nicolas' artistic path was shaped by painting and attending art school at an early age in Lund, Sweden as well as earning higher degrees in design in the US and Portugal.
Incorporating the impulsive nature of all creative endeavours into his painting style and technique, Nicolas' works are dedicated to incite an emotion, through expressive action and abstract notes, just like that of music, his other great passion.
The distinctiveness of his approach has earned him recognition, with his art being featured in publications including ELLE Decor, Forbes and Harpers Bazaar as well as collaborations with Minotti Furniture and Audo Copenhagen.
Nicolas is currently residing between southern Sweden and Prague with his wife Nina (who runs their design studio Médecine), their son Theo and their Frenchie Louis.
